Maria Kamberis

is a dance teacher and choreographer. She holds a Master degree in Science of Education (University of Cyprus), Bachelor of Arts in Dance Education and Licentiate in Modern Theatre Dance, Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. She has attended
workshops and training seminars on technique, choreography, nutrition, creativity and music in Cyprus, Athens and London. She is the founder and the main teacher at Maria Kamberis Dance Studio, located in Nicosia. She is also the founder, artistic director; choreographer and producer of the professional contemporary and dance research company Selas Dance Company. She is the creator of “Omou” festival, a themed, interactive festival located in country side. She created “En Fantasia” a Professional Learning and Development Programme offering experiential workshops for teachers on creative movement. She also created the workshop “Valitsa”. The workshop includes creative activities through which children are connected with their roots, learning and exploring with elements, names and
rhythms inspired by Cypriot heritage. She delivers workshops and speeches regarding creative movement. She is an academic associate at the University of Nicosia in the department of Music and Dance and teaches the course Approaches to Dance Pedagogy.
